“15 Minutes Eternal” features more than 300 paintings, photographs, screen prints, drawings, and sculptures. The exhibition also includes some of the outstanding and iconic works of the artist which includes Jackie of 1964, Marilyn Monroe of 1967, Silver Liz of 1963, Mao of 1972, Campbell’s Soup of 1961, The Last Supper of 1986 and Self-Portrait.
This exhibition is sponsored by the BNY Mellon which is bringing this largest touring collection of great artist’s work to Asia in 2012/14, to mark the 25th anniversary of his death. This exhibition of the great artist will travel to five Asian cities over 27 months, starting from Singapore’s museum and then tour to Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, and finally Tokyo in 2014.
Director of the Andy Warhol Museum, Eric Shiner, said that fascinated by the glitterati, the great artist Warhol remains a complex and often misunderstood persona, 25 years after his death. Its out classed artwork will show consumer objects like Heinz ketchup boxes and paintings of American actress, singer, and model Marilyn Monroe, and the leader of the Chinese revolution, Mao Zedong that have been imprinted into their collective consciousness.
Shiner said that they are delighted that BNY Mellon is bringing the life, work and creative genius of Andy Warhol to cities across the world’s largest continent.
The Andy Warhol Museum said that a complete series of education programs will go with the exhibition and feature silk-screening workshops for the schools and teachers and school outreach programs.
